Wir sind dabei!

2009 will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This means 20 years
of openness, interaction and free spaces, enabling creativity to explode unlike at any
other location.

On the occasion of this upcoming event CREATE BERLIN is already now taking a closer
look at the future of the creative hub Berlin. With the exhibition
CREATE BERLIN GOES
LONDON
from September 18-21, 2008 at the Dray Walk Gallery on the premises of the
Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, East London, where the reigning Mayor of Berlin, Klaus
Wowereit, will personally be present at the opening event during London Design and
Fashion Week.

Thankyou to Sabina and Madina Tasenov of Âme Sœur, Paris, for participating in the
workshop for our Hochbau design unit,
Made in. The workshop exposed students to me-
thods used in fashion and asked them to use them to make small constructions/install-
ations for one to three people.

We're both very excited about the courses that we've organized this semester in the
Lehrstuhl für Gebäudelehre und Grundlagen des Entwerfens, RWTH University, Aachen
Germany. the Lehrstuhl teaching theme this semester is "Team up," which means that
we've sought out partners from industry for each project, with whom we'll work for
the duration of the semester. Teaming-up with industrial partners allows us to learn
about new materials, products and production processes and collaborate with the com-
panies on new design endeavours. each course description can be read on the Lehr
-
stuhl's
website.
